Tryout Info

How do I make the team? 

 Tryouts will be held during the first week of August

 Requirements (must do both)

1.Run 20 minutes without stopping/walking

2.Hit Time Trial Standard (One Mile)

Cross Country Team Tryout Format

3:30 – 5:15 PM

Before you can try out, you must be on the team Email list. The names on this list are used to check eligibility. If you do not have a VHSL physical, have not done the proper registration and are not green on the eligibility list, you cannot tryout. These Item must be taken care of before August 1.

Required Documentation

1. Athlete must be registered to participate in Edison Sports: https://thomasedison-ar.rschooltoday.com/

2. Athlete must have a completed and approved physical before tryouts. Submit physical digitally to tjmilosavich@fcps.edu

 

All athletes have to complete all four days of tryouts in good standing by participating in all scheduled activities from beginning till the end. Not doing so will result in a Strike per day. The only acceptable excuse for missing a day of tryouts is being excused by Coach Reed in advance. Makeups are expected if you miss tryout week for any reason.

Hitting these times will guarantee acceptance to the team. We may choose to accept additional athletes based on effort we see at tryouts. Final decisions for acceptance onto the team will be at the discretion of Coach Reed and the coaching staff.


All athletes must have proper running shoes and at least 32oz of water. Athletes without proper running shoes, 32oz of water or both will be sent home .

Documentation submitted prior to tryouts. Athletes not eligible to tryout, but appearing at tryouts will be sent home  and will receive 1 strike.
